What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the method of permanently removing unwanted hair anywhere on your body. It is the only FDA and AMA approved form of permanent hair removal. Electrolysis works by inserting a tiny, flexible metal probe into the existing hair follicle openings on the surface of the skin where the hair naturally grows out of. A small amount of electricity and heat is directed to destroy the hair bulb. Then, the hair is tweezed out of the follicle. After your electrolysis session, your hair will be removed from the problem area. a small amount of electricity and heat is directed to destroy the hair bulb. Then, the hair is tweezed out of the follicle. You will leave your electrolysis session with those hairs removed. Electrolysis does take time to become permanent. The more coarse your hair is, the more treatments you will need.

Electrolysis has been around since 1875. It is safe and effective for men and women of any skin, hair colors, or types. It is even very effective for peach fuzz, white or grey hair.

How does it work?

Electrolysis involves inserting a fine, pre-sterilized, disposable probe into the hair follicle. The skin is not punctured or harmed. A slight current is applied through the probe, which destroys the dermal papilla — the blood supply to the hair. Once the dermal papilla is completely deactivated, no further hair can grow. If a hair is only partially treated, a weaker and finer hair will regrow, which can then be treated more effectively in subsequent sessions.
